Fitbit Edge sits between Pixel Watch and Fitbit Air, pairing Google Health Coach with precision GPS, deeper sensor tracking, and up to seven days of battery life.
Google has introduced Fitbit Edge, a new fitness tracker positioned between the full-featured Pixel Watch and the lightweight, screenless Fitbit Air. It brings Google Health Coach to an ultra-slim, glanceable device for the first time, combining Fitbit's health tracking with Google's design and software. Fitbit Edge is available for pre-order now at $179.99, with units on shelves October 27.
The tracker is encased in durable recycled aluminum and measures just 11.5mm thin — a case 45% lighter than the Apple Watch Series 12. Its Hybrid OLED display delivers 46% more viewing area than previous Fitbit trackers, staying readable in direct sunlight, and a redesigned physical side button adds tactile feedback for quick actions like pausing a workout. The on-device interface carries over Pixel Watch 5's glanceable complications and fluid tiles, surfacing sleep, cycle tracking, and heart rate alongside Google Maps, media controls, and notifications.
Fitbit Edge tracks more than 50 exercise modes with real-time, on-wrist guidance — pace targets for runs, heart rate zones for HIIT, splits for track workouts. Built-in GPS delivers up to 40% improved tracking accuracy over previous generations, aided by nano-molded aluminum housing and an upgraded GPS chipset, plus an integrated altimeter for elevation tracking. Automatic activity recognition covers up to 100 workout types, logging effort even when a workout isn't manually started.
Health Guardian features track blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends, and high/low heart rate alerts in the background, with Google Health Premium adding personalized coaching and context for conversations with a doctor. An on-wrist ECG app supports heart rhythm assessments, continuous optical heart rate monitoring tracks rest and recovery, and a dedicated skin temperature sensor pairs with sleep stage and HRV data for a daily recovery score.
Fitbit Edge is rated for up to seven days of battery life on a single charge, with fast magnetic charging delivering a full day of battery in five minutes. It's water-resistant up to 50 meters and built as Fitbit's first repairable tracker, with a modular internal architecture and a replaceable battery.
The tracker comes in four finishes — Obsidian, Fog, Olive, and Canyon — each paired with an Active Band, and a full line of interchangeable bands including Active Sport, Performance Loop, Magnet, and Metal Links. Google is also launching a Stephen Curry Special Edition, built with four-time NBA Champion and Google Performance Advisor Stephen Curry, in water-repellent, moisture-wicking rye and game-day orange tones, priced at $219.99.
Fitbit Edge retails for $179.99 ($219.99 for the Stephen Curry Special Edition), is available for pre-order now on the Google Store and through retail partners, ships October 27, and includes three months of Google Health Premium.
